Thorium Nova is now Open Source! Help build a spaceship simulator
Hey everyone!
Last year, I posted about Thorium Nova http://bridgesim.net/discussion/507/thorium-nova
The project went really well for a few months, and then stopped, mostly because of the birth of my daughter. For the past 6 months, I've really wanted to get back into it, but I knew I couldn't do it without help. So, I've decided to open-source Thorium Nova and make it a community project.
Interested in contributing? We're having a virtual contributors kick-off meeting on October 5th at 7:30 ET. All are welcome, regardless of skill or how you would want to contribute. If you want to attend, sign up here: https://thoriumsim.com/rsvp
You can read the email I sent out to newsletter subscribers here: https://app.sparkmailapp.com/web-share/rrt7XvEmaPKbzUV_jA546syyIkb-VuSf2PEvBM7j That email talks more about the meeting, the plans for Thorium Nova, and why I'm doing this.
Thanks everyone! I hope you have an amazing week, and I'll see you next Tuesday!

What's the license? Maybe it's buried in there somewhere, but I poked around a bit and didn't find a license, and none is set on the community tab in the github repo. https://github.com/Thorium-Sim/thorium-nova/community
Without any license, there's technically nothing that gives me or anyone else the right to have a copy.
See: https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/managing-your-repositorys-settings-and-features/customizing-your-repository/licensing-a-repository
I give you permission to steal it then. Go on, I won’t sue you or anything.
Jokes aside, I’m hoping to pick the license at the contributors meeting on Tuesday, since I figure that’s something contributors might want a say in. For now, assume it’s Apache 2.0 (that’s what it says in the package.json file), but that might change to something else next week.
In any case, there will be a LICENSE.md file in the repo a week from now.
