@xopn @el.tito @Terandir - Yes, it's been very exciting seeing all the creative energy pouring into EE! And yes, it has been hard keeping up with all the changes! (Thanks also to @Jonathan Levi for the kind reference! 🙂) Just wanted to let everyo…

For our Scout events, I've found that a dash of mood lighting and some background sound go a long way in creating just enough immersion on a budget to make it a good experience. Do you have a sound system with a sub-woofer in the setup? We use a b…

I really do like the laser-embossed acrylic plates! A very nice touch.

Hey Nigel - this set up looks great. Well done, esp for a temp setup for a convention. Tks for sharing!
-
Hey Nigel - thanks very much for making these up. I was looking for exactly this sort of thing and BlueShadow knew you had done this and passed me the link. Given what you said above, I'd like to use these graphics in some tutorial videos that I'm…

Many thanks for your work on this daid! I will help to update the wiki on the proxy server.

Ugh. Sorry this took so long, but here's a link to a short video overview of the 'Rescue Us!' scenario with the super nova explosion. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zkw7KmjdBzrjEJ6_TnSb0-saI1G8sIN1/view?usp=sharing

Hey! Sorry for delay. Work is being demanding. I'm glad to put a vid together and make script available after I clean it up. Will get the vid together in a day or two-ish and post. Tks for patience!

actually seems to handle it ok. That's the end of the scenario anyway so it's ok if it slows down a bit. I've tried it with as many as 500, and it definitely starts to choke then. ;]

ha, I've actually coded it so when the star goes nova, it spews a variable number of nebulae (typically set to 250) out in random directions and speeds from star so that it does rather look like a super nova! It's fun to watch explode. 8-) Entities…

It's been only 4 days since my last post, and you all have probably written 5000 words. Goodness! Going to be full-time job keeping up here, ha! 8-)

@daid - btw, I meant to say thanks for fixing the .dll issue and for the new release. Issue went away!
-
@daid - dude! that's an awesome resource. Thanks very much! 8-)
-
@smcameron - thanks for the excellent info! I admit I've not done this before, but you've certainly given me enough to investigate and figure it out. Many thanks! 8-) @Xansta - I should have remembered that you implemented some audio via scripti…

@daid: you're on fire dude! Ha. Ok, by point/topic. * EE 1 vs 2. Sorry if I befuddled the topic by implying you wanted to change EE1. I knew you didn't, but I thought I perhaps detected some (regret?) with there not being more "anticip…

I also recommend "Borderline Fever" written by Xansta. Pretty involved escalating boarder war scenario.

Greetings all. My apologies for my tardiness in joining the discussion. Simply too much going on. Trying to focus. @daid: Ref your comment on 21 Oct on ship CPU and memory resource utilization; I am definitely all for trade-offs in ship design…

The fix is rock solid! Have thrown literally thousands of drones in my test script, and it didn't crash once. So, it's 'game on!' for full drone deployment in CtF... just imagine the glorious chaos! ;]
-
awesome, tks!
-
btw, what's the impact if I can't fix it other by keeping the file in the EE directory a different name?
-
yup, that was my inclination as well. ok, I'll go on a hunt! Tks for the help!
-
aha! yes, I have several versions of EE 'installed' on this machine, but really don't need them there. I have just been lazy about removing them. Now, given there isn't an msi associated with the files, I would normally just delete the old EE fil…

well, I'm very happy to say that I've thrown thousands of drones and other AI ships in through my test script, and the engine is running really solid. Yes, when there's about 500+ entities all going at it simultaneously in one big furball it does s…

I conferred with @BlueShadow and he suggested renaming the dbghelp.dll file in the EE directory (temp .keep name of course), and that did allow EE to start! Excellent. I did do a quick round of tests, and threw a gazillion drones together in a mas…

yes, there is such a critter lurking in the bowls of the windows files; however, ver 05.21 starts just fine and doesn't complain about the dll. I did a fresh reboot prior to testing again. Is anyone else having this problem?
-
@daid - sorry for the hassles, but it's still throwing an error at start. "The procedure entry point dbgcore.MiniDumpReadDumpStream could not be located in the dynamic link library dbghelp.dll" Just in case, I did try both Win releases a…

Awesome, thanks daid!
