Idea for custom controllers

edited December 2013 in Custom Controllers
Just discovered TouchOSC and it looks like it would be cool for creating custom controllers for games using Android or iOS devices. The games themselves would have to support MIDI or have some sort of translator for the controls.
The apps aren't free unfortunately: Android & IOS apps are $4.99.

  • Seems like this would be somewhat trivial to implement in an engine like unity and then have it connect to a game via a dedicated socket connection, then it could be customized for each ship sim rather then re-purposing a music project.

Any sim with an API for the console could just have a plugin interface the remote device to that console.
  • I've seen many requests for using midi tools and the like with Bridge Sims. This would be just another way to make controls.
